It's been a while...
I decided to go back to work in May of 2010 and since then I've had very little time to craft. I am still working outside of the house, but must find time to start creating again. I miss it! Coloring and card making is so relaxing to me. I'm going to dust off my pencils and get back to it. What better way to jump back in than to enter some challenges? I'm off to create now.

Phindy's Place Challenge #22
This is the card I made for the Phindy's Place Challenge #22 - Go Green.
When I colored and paper pieced the adorable Phindy image, I had every intention of using a green piece of card stock for the background since there is green in her dress, but in the end it jut didn't look right to me. So that's why there is only a small bit of green in my "Go Green" entry.
I added tulle to the bottom of her dress, but it's light pink so it's hard to see |

Karen's Doodles Challenge #28
It's been quite a few months since my last post. Things have been very busy lately...
I was excited that I actually found some time to complete a card for Karen's Doodles Challenge #28. The challenge was to create a Criss Cross card. I used Karen's "Flowers for Mum" image.

Karen's Doodles Kids Challenge #2
My children were so excited when I told them there was a card challenge for kids. Matthew is 6 years old and Lauren is 3. I showed them how to read the sketch and then they both sat down and worked until their card was complete.
They were proud of their finished cards and decided to pose as 'card people'.

"Howdy"
I'm excited to be participating in my first card challenge. The challenge, "Fancy Folds", was to create a card that was something other than just a plain rectangle or square using a Karen's Doodles digital stamp. The stamp I chose is called "Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy". If you love digital stamps, go check out her blog, Karen's Doodles. I love every single one of her stamps. I can guarantee you won't be able to leave without purchasing at least one. The card style I chose is called "Joy Fold". A tutorial can be found over at Splitcoast Stampers.
I am pleased with the finished result, however, it is completely different from my original plan. After I finished coloring the lil' cowboy I stepped away from the table only to return and find my finished image in the hands of my 3 year old daughter, Lauren, who was also holding my paper cutter. And yes, she had already used it! Luckily, I was able still able to use the lil' guy, by cutting him out completely. Whew!

Lots of cards to share
I've always loved to color and now that I've found digital stamps I may never get anything else done other than cards. On a positive note, I guess I will have some pretty happy friends!
My desktop computer broke about a month ago so I haven't been able to upload any pictures so I have a lot of cards to share with you all today.
